Here's my 7 paragraphs of sexy from Pilar and Duncan:
“I never cower.”
Proceed
with caution. Her brain screamed the warning. All her weapons were upstairs
in her room, including her silver jewelry. Her grip tightened on the pool stick
and she eyed his lean frame. To use that on him would be pointless, like
hitting a brick wall with a toothpick.
She shrugged her shoulders.
“Whatever. I should know better than to question my instincts.” Deliberately
turning her back to him, she leaned over the table and lined up another shot.
Tension-filled air exploded into an atmosphere of raw, animal magnetism.
Slammed by the sudden, fierce force of his hunger, she palmed the table for
support. Holy shit, he was potent.
Every single hair on her body stood up and vibrated, turning her into a passion
receptor.
Had he shifted?
The man’s essence was so primal she
swore a dog watched from behind. Chancing a glance over her shoulder, she
gasped. He hadn’t shifted into a dog, but he had shifted to stand directly
behind her. Desire blazed in his eyes with an intensity that spoke to her soul.
She couldn’t move. Didn’t want to
move. She wanted…
Fabric from his pants skimmed her
bare legs in an erotic caress when he leaned full out over her. Warm, sure
hands teased her flesh and stirred her inner core as they ran up her torso,
over her shoulders and down her arms before he stretched her wrists out on the
table and nuzzled her neck.
“What do your instincts say about
me now?”
