RomCon Tax Day Relief Blog Hop Today!

Good morning!

Welcome to my post for the RomCon Tax Day Relief Blog Hop!
Another year's nasty tax business has come and gone. Hurray! Just about. You still have until midnight to get your return postmarked and out of your hair.

Now that that stress is over, it's a great time to reward yourself with a good book. That's what I'm going to do. I have Rhonda Nelson's new Blaze waiting for me. I just love a good military hero. Or cowboy. Or cop. Or firefighter. lol You get the picture.

My latest release features a hunky, brooding computer software genius/weekend cowboy who is brought back to the land of the living by his visiting former childhood neighbor. He may be good with computers but there is no protection against the Jordan virus...

BLURB

L.A. cop Jordan Masters Ryan has a problem. Her normal method of meeting a crisis head-on and taking it down won’t work. Not this time. Not when fate is her adversary. Having kept her from the man she thought she’d always marry, the same fickle fate took away the man she eventually did. Thrown back into the path of her first love, she finds hers is not the only heart fate has damaged.

Widower and software CEO, Cole McCall fills his days with computer codes and his free time working the family’s cattle ranch. Blaming himself for his wife’s death, he’s become hard and bitter. When his visiting former neighbor sets out to delete the firewall around his heart, he discovers there’s no protection against the Jordan virus. Though she understands his pain and reawakens his soul, will it be enough for Cole to overcome his past and embrace their fated hearts?

small EXCERPT
“Sorry guys, the lady’s with me tonight.”
        Her heartbeats tripled. She was?
Eyebrows shot up and heads snapped in their direction as the news registered in everyone’s brains. Smiling, he guided them towards the food.
“Wait, McCall.” She pulled him out of the line.
A big smile split across his face. “You want to get me alone already?” he teased, grazing her hip with his hand.

“Cole, what’s going on? Is this a date?”
       “Yes.”

“You and me?”

“Yes. It generally takes two.”
“I know that, but one is generally asked.” She raised a brow and waited.
Laughter faded from his eyes.  “Are you saying you don’t want to be here with me?”
“No, ya big dummy. I’m saying I expected to be asked.”

“Oh, I can do that.” He grasped her hands and gazed straight into her eyes, his own alight with mischief and hope. “Jordan, I know this has been a very long time coming, but would you do me the honor of being my date for this evening?”
All kidding aside, her heart thudded in her throat. “Are you sure about this Cole? Are you sure you’re ready for me?”
“Jordan.” Lips twitching, he cupped her chin. “Honey. I don’t think I’ll ever be ready for you.”

fun excerpt and i like the concept of a computer guy/cowboy--it certainly would make calling i.t. for help more enjoyable... ;)

Thanks, Nora.

Yes, Cole is certainly 'IT'. hehe

He was a lot of fun to write and I look forward to dealing with the 'lighter' side of him as he makes appearances throughout the upcoming books.
